Jamie came into the house soaking wet and limping. Nathan picked up his mom noticing the limp. "Dad!" screamed the eldest child. Jamie cringed.
"That was my ear Nathan" she grumbled. He made an 'oops sorry' face as he took her into the living room. Nathan gently set her on the couch on top of the towel he had grabbed as they walked past the bathroom and gave her a look. "I'm fine Nate" she assured him.
Nathan wasn't buying it. "Dad!" he screamed again as he glared at his mother. "Don't you dare move" he informed her as he went to go look for Travis.
Jamie grumbled as she curled up on the couch. Clearly her 14 year old was keeping tabs on her now or something. Nathan didn't seem pleased at all. Unable to find Travis he dialed his dad's cell. Maybe he was outside? On his way home from work? Nathan didn't usually know where to find his dad this time of day because he was usually at soccer practice. Today it got canceled because of the rain. When Nathan came back with ice she made a face and set it back on the table. "Dad is going to have a fit if you don't put that ice on your leg" he mused.
Jamie made a face. "Yes well then he can have a fit; because I am not putting that ice on my leg" it was more because she was being stubborn.
"Yeah I am going to let Dad handle this.. because you are a pain in the ass mother." he insisted.
"You sound like your father" she grumbled back. Jamie could have gotten up but she knew she wasn't going to make it very far. The problem with having all boys in the house, was they all ganged up on you if you got hurt.
"DAD!!!" he screamed again. He took the ice and put it on her face. "And your cheek is swollen. Mom. What. Happened?" he was clearly not happy that she looked like she had been in a fight.

Travis has been working on Danny's bike that had been broke, but ended up checking all four of them. It was something to keep him occupied so he didn't hurl himself over other Oxford house and took a swing at the man so he had used all his energy in fixing and tuning the bikes. He had the nerve to show back up after 15 going on 16 years. More had the nerve to punch him over Jamie while the ass had been married to another woman by then. Even then Travis hadn't done right by not telling Bobby about Jamie and him. He had doubts that Bobby would have even listened to Jamie back then. He had last of the bolt in place when he heard the scream. Picking up the cloth he wiped the oil off his fingers and only was at the door that led to the house when another scream came. Frowning he open the door and was heading towards the lounge when Nate scream for the third time, and picked up pace, seeing the boy tend to his mother and the comment that followed, he leaned on the frame and watched the two, " Which poor soul had his backside handed to him?" Coming closer, he swore, " Christ Jamie...did you fight a tiger?" He had no idea about Nate bullying Bobby's twin girls. If he knew, he was not going to be pleased. He did not bring his boy up to be a bully. <<Tag: Jamison "Jamie" Oxford >>

Jamie didn't blame Travis for being out. She had lashed out on the defensive once the other Oxfords came back to town. She moved slightly cringing as she moved. Her ribs and leg really hurt. Jamie looked up hearing her husband's voice. Nathan went from the room. Jamie sighed answering his question. "You are looking at her" She replied. Oh she was definitely the worse off of the two involved in this fight. Hearing him ask about a tiger she shook her head some. "Tiger? This was not you in the bedroom" a smirk played on her features. Yes she was choosing NOW to compliment her husband's bedroom performance. Then again it was Jamie. Jamie didnt know about the bullying either. She was on the same page as Travis on that one. Jamie slowly spoke. "Ill be sore for a few days but nothing is broken" she tries to ease his mind. She curled up on the couch. Tag: Travis Oxford

A low whistle left his lip as he walked over and listening to her. Taking a seat he inspected her injuries, "You," he looked at her in shock, "had your rear end handed to you?" That was not something that one heard these days. It was a sad day when a member of the military had their backside handed to them.
He chuckled, "My brain wasn't in the gutter," he told her, "sorry to disappoint you. Who did you fight? Do I need to make a call to Steve for assault on you?" Little he knew who the fight had been with. Bobby returning was enough to have his mind reeling with everything.
He wasn't convinced that nothing was broken. But for now he let it go. He might get the doctors to take a look at her just to be safe.

Jamie squirmed a little as he looked over her injuries. "oww darling please stop" normally Jamie didn't complain. Bobby must have taught Vicki to fight because damn the woman could hit. Jamie set her head down in Travis' lap.
When he mentioned the gutter she laughed. "No but doesn't mean I am not allowed to tease my amazing other half" She replied. When he mentioned Steve she sighed. "yes and no. I didn't instigate it but I threw the first punch. Steve stopped me from fighting at the cafe earlier" she admitted.
Jamie gave him a look. It was apologetic in nature. "No one talks about you in a condescending manner, you know that. I wasn't about to keep my hands to myself" her voice was quiet. She whimpered as she moved. It wasn't that she ignored his question about who, she just hadn't heard him. Nor did she want to admit Bobby's girl got the better of her. "Do all Oxford women hit so frakking hard?" She closed her eyes but sat up just enough that she was wrapped around him. She hurt and felt vulnerable and wanted to feel safe. Jamie has always acted in a similar manner when she was sick or injured. Like a wounded cat that wanted to be cared for.

He stopped as she asked, "That's pretty decent beating you have been given," he re-adjusted the ice pack on her bruises. Whoever she had fought knew how to fight. From what he could tell, it was not an armature by any means.
He noticed she avoided his question of who the person was, but let it go. One way or another he would come to know. He smirked, "Not the time and place for it," he told her and had his open left open, "You what? Jamie." Her name was said in stern voice, "You didn't?"
As she explained the reasons, he wiggled his fingers in frustration, "I'll ask again, who did you fight?" he looked at her, he was not going to move with the conversation till he got his answer. Her comment about the Oxford women amused him, "We pick our girls carefully and train them." he jested about the latter part, deadpanned. The Oxford boys were known to fight mean. One didn't mess with five of them and got away. He suddenly realised the number he had used. When he thought clearly about what she was asking him, his expression changed, but was quick enough to put a lid on it, "You fought with her?" he asked.

Travis has this way of saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. It was generally replied to with sarcasm. This time no exception. "You think?" she chided. Though she seethed as he brought the ice to her skin. Jamie hated ice because she hated being cold; but she knew better than to protest. She looked over at her husband with an almost flattened expression on her face. One that really didn't seem thrilled that she had just gotten the crap beaten out of her. Then again who enjoyed getting the crap beaten out of them.
When he got onto her for teasing her she just let it go. She knew he was right but Jamie needed something to get her mind off the fact her face hurt. She hated when he got stern. That whole higher officer rank sometimes went to his head or something. "I'd do it again Travis" she defended. Jamie could keep her cool but when someone outside of work started calling Travis shallow among other things, it got Jamie worked up and angry. The words 'Shallow and ignorant' had set her off.
Jamie rolled over and faced the couch pushing the ice off her face. Forcing herself off the couch, she didn't care how much it hurt she needed to do that pacing thing. She had that agitated feeling again. She stopped along the wall and leaned on it gripping a fist. She was usually more composed but she was upset. His attempt at jesting was just as misplaced as hers but she just gave a half smile. The woman could hold her cool in a court room but dealing with her family always got under her skin. "Do I ever fight with any of the others?" her voice was resolved. Jamie got along with the other girls just fine and in high school she had gotten into a lot of physical fights but those days had been behind her for years.
"Id rather have a reputation for fighting then let her try to label you shallow and ignorant" she replied calming down within a few moments and coming back towards him. Moving towards him she sat back down. "Does she had nothing better to do than try and tear down our family?" It was a rhetorical question. That was why Jamie still fought with her. Jamie put an arm around Travis' waist with the intent to bring him closer to her. This was raw for the both of them but she wasn't going to let go. Vicki had ruined her life once, she wasn't going to let the woman do it again.

He ignored her sarcasm. It wasn't time to start picking apart on small stuff. If he did, they would be here all night and nothing would get done. He rubbed his face when she said she did do it again. Oxfords must have rubbed on her over the years since all boys would stand up for each other. At least those who had been around. He hadn't heard from or seen Patrick in almost sixteen years. The man had stopped all contact when Bobby had left Winterley. " Spoken like a true Oxford," he told her, " Don't doubt you would, but I have heard worse." " Your sister comes to mind," he added, " but you don't go beating her up. We have been the only ones around for awhile, they slipped my mind." When she had set down, the way she had walked didn't go past his eye. Her words triggered a memory. The words were so close to what Bobby had said once when he and Pat had gotten picked on. Brushing his thumb over the bruise he got to his feet, " I can handle myself. She has nothing better to do than get you worked up. No point in giving her that chance." Her question had him looking at her, then stiffened as he replied, " I guess not. There too much water under the bridge. Let's not go there." He didn't want to touch that. Not now; not ever. <<Tag: Jamison "Jamie" Oxford>>

Jamie sighed as she moved towards him. The blonde felt guilty for upsetting Travis. When he mentioned the speaking like an Oxford she chuckled. "Well Colonel Obvious, I distinctly remember changing my name 18 years ago; I would supposed that MIGHT have something to do with it" she replied as she looked into is eyes for a moment. Jamie slipped her arms into a hug around him. "You know how I feel about bullies. I won't stand for it. Especially not when they are targeting my husband that I am still head over heels for" she replied as she kissed his forehead softly.
"My sister does not count; that is just sibling bickering. I did once... I beat Debbie up when I was 7. She was 13 and thought she was queen bee. Do you remember those rockem sockem robot punching toys? I laid once next to her face while she slept and it punched her in the eye. She was okay but I remember Dad paddled me so hard" she admitted. "So theoretically you are right. I did go beating up my sister" she replied.
When she paced she moved in such a manner to keep the weight off the right side of her rib cage. "You can handle yourself; but that doesn't mean I will stand for you to be treated like that. What kind of wife would I be if that didn't upset me? I've always been brutally honest with you; even when it hurts. That's not about to change and I can't promise you I would handle it any different any other time. I can only be respectful and mindful of your views on the matter."
When her husband mentioned too much water under the bridge she kissed the side of his neck. Everyone had been up in arms since Bobby and Vicki came back to town. "Perhaps not but don't let them turn you sour on me. Let's put it behind us best we can?" she replied as she hugged him close kissing his forehead. Every breathe hurt but she took a few deep ones. <Tag: Travis Oxford>

He knew since he was also one the same page as her regarding them, "Yea I do," he told her, "We don't like them either. Simon and Bobby beat two up once. They were ten, the idiots took on High schoolers. Both boys bigger than they were. Two lanky kids against two bigger sized teens," As he could see it clearly, "They picked on Pat and me one summer, that didn't sit well with Si and Bobs. Not that those two came out without battle injuries. Grounded for all summer, not that cared."
He managed a smile at her last words. Regardless of the fact that they had been married for eighteen years; a part of him always feared that one day Bobby and her would rekindle their own feelings. With the man's return those feelings had hit a all time high. He was after all married to his cousin's ex. He laughed at her story, "Is that why she doesn't like that game?"
"While you have a point about getting upset," he cupped her face, "I don't want you start throwing fist around." Exhaling, "You are a lawyer, use words."
He nodded at her suggestion. It wasn't going to be a easy task since he wanted to make things right with Bobby. But too many years had gone by for things to be amended, "Yea," he agreed, "Can try." It was then he noted Danny near the entry to the lounge, and motioned his son in.
"I found this in Nate's bin," he held out a crumbled paper, "I think he might be trouble."

Jamie raised a brow. "Simon? Grounded? Do those two even GO in the same sentence" she chuckled as she leaned on his shoulder chuckling. The blonde watched his expressions. Something was making him uneasy but she wasn't going to poke. In all honesty, she was a little uneasy too and after being beaten up she was a little out of sorts herself. Though she spoke only truth, she only had eyes and a heart for Travis. Travis had nothing to worry about; even if she did manage to be on civil terms with her ex ever; she wouldn't trade down from Travis.
"She's never liked that game, she liked it even less after that. Ric is the real reason she doesn't like that game and I think it has to do with the fact that she could never win against him" she chuckled. Jamie was far younger than the other two siblings, so most of the stories she had about them they were already teens and causing trouble was always deemed to be her fault. The blonde whimpered as she sat back down, she reached for the ice to put it on her side.
When Travis told her to stop throwing her fists around and to use words she nodded. "Okay cupcake" she replied with a small smile. "Am I allowed to use paper? Because you know paper cuts hurt too" her eyes shifted sideways as she was clearly joking about it.
She hugged Travis close to her and looked over his shoulder as Danny entered into the lounge. It was not an uncommon sight for Jamie to be hugging on Travis from behind. She went to reach for the paper and decided against it. Jamie sighed. She was trying to do too much again. The woman laid back down on the couch as she brushed her hand along Travis' arm lightly. "What does it say babe?" she asked.
"Danny did you still need help on your constitution homework? and didn't you have a math test yesterday?" she offered. Jamie was the one who usually had to help the kids with history and math. Even though Jamie worked for JAG she was home a lot also; with the kids in school she just would come home before they got home and finish her work at home.

Travis chuckled at her question. Place Simon and Bobby together and two would have gone around causing chaos. "Yea they do," he admitted, "and did till he was eighteen." Even more till Bobby screwed up everything. But at least the two of them weren't getting grounded at every turn.
He shook his head at the story, "Just make sure I don't bring the game out next time she is in town. She might not take it kindly to my prank." Travis couldn't remember when Deb had ever taken kindly to his pranks. But he knew Rick understood some and not others. Matt normally slapped him upset his head and would walk away.
He gave her a look when she spoke and jested about it, "Jamie," then shook his head as he uncurled ball of paper he took from his son, read over the contents and tried not feel his BP spike as he rubbed his forehead. Anger bubbled inside all over again. He did not reach his son to be or become a bully, "Nate is bullying Bobby's girls. They want a conference." His voice was tight. This was not the type of payback he wanted to give Bobby for standing up for him during childhood, "It has the whole class against the girls." How many times he had told his son that bullying wasn't going to be tolerated. It was also possible that they could be looking at suspension from school for Nate.

Jamie had forgotten the joking when Travis got serious. The JAG Lawyer sat up on the couch when she heard Travis' tone. His look didn't go unnoticed but there was no time to address that right this minute. There was no sense upsetting Travis. Well too late for that. Jamie could hear the tone in his voice. Her hand rested on Travis' shoulder gently. She began to rub her hand back and forth on Travis' hand.
"NATHANIEL FREDRICK OXFORD FRONT AND CENTER!" Her military tone was loud and could make most people shiver. It sounded remarkably like her father's when she had been in trouble at a younger age. They were going to handle this right then. The woman waited for Nathan to come back into the room. "Daniel go sit" her tone was not as icy towards the younger one but it still left no room for discussion. There was only going to be one discussion about bullying in the house.
Nathan appeared back in the room and practically stood at attention.

As Nate stood attention, Travis flipped the letter so it faced his son, "You want to explain me this?" he asked as he moved a little towards his boy. He could be firm when he wanted to be, just he could be laid back.
Nate recognised the letter and wanted to throw a glare in Danny's way, yet knew better, "No, sir."
Travis sighed as he looked at his first born, "Wrong answer. Let's try again," he was firm in his voice yet it was clear that he wasn't happy about this, "I did not raise you to behave this way."
"But they...." Nate started to protest
"What?" Travis cut in, "Those girls are new in town. What have they done to you or Danny? Picked on you? Called you names?" He had doubts that was the case.
"But their parents...." Nate flinched as his father's gaze turned into a glare, "hurt mom and you." He knew he wasn't mean to overhear the conversation. He wasn't suppose to know anything of what happened.
The words that came out his son's mouth shocked him, he opened his mouth to say something but decided against it. There was no point in dragging the matter. There was no point in telling that Oxfords fought against the bullies, not become one of them, "This conversation is over," he told the boy, as he locked his own emotions, "Regardless of what gets decided by the school. Starting tomorrow, you are grounded for the next five months. During that time, you pick on those girls, I will personally enroll you into a military school. Are we clear?" Seeing his son nod, Travis stalked off. Soon enough the front door was heard being slammed.

Jamie's gaze never left her son's eyes. Even as he looked towards his father. The blonde was angry at her eldest son. Why did the boys have to channel her at times. The woman clearly was not thrilled as Nathan started digging himself a hole. "Their parents are not them Nathaniel." her words were sharp but no emotion attached to them. Her military training covering up her anger. It brought with it a whole flood of emotion.
When Travis mentioned military academy she spoke. "With all due respect Sir. Overruled. Military Academy is a given at this point. There is a clear lack of respect to an officer" When military rules were used in the house. It applied to all of them. Jamie included and Travis out ranked her. It for whatever reason just worked for them. Kept them from arguing and screaming and yelling at each other like two year olds.
When Travis disappeared and slammed the front door. "Upstairs to your room right now, before I decide that letting your father's cousin explain why hurting his daughters is not a smart idea. Fight with your brother and I will find a belt." she snapped.
Daniel was still standing. He wasn't in trouble so he knew he wouldn't be asked to stand at attention. "Daniel you are dismissed." Jamie's voice was softer towards the child who wasn't at fault.
When both kids were upstairs Jamie went outside to go find Travis. The woman visibly relaxed her frame though her frustrated expression showed on her face. She was in pain still; her ribs still hurt. Jamie knew that her husband had been struggling with Bobby since he had found out about the two of them. That was a long time to hold a grudge. Travis wanted to fix things but wouldn't make the effort. Jamie put a hand under Travis' chin to lift it. "Tell me how to help. Je vais escalader le mur vous construisez si je dois le faire. Mon chér Angel." (I'll climb the wall you are building if I have to do so. My darling Angel) Jamie knew there was really nothing to do other than be there for him. Like everyone else he was shutting down and Jamie saw it.
